The 2012 Tower Picnic

On the sunniest day of the year, about forty Tower friends and members (plus children and dogs) enjoyed the sixth Annual Tower Picnic in Clissold Park. Fortified by an amazing amount of food and drink, races were run and prizes awarded. As well
as the traditional children's races, an innovation was the Tower's Salute to the Paralympics : a blindfolded person had to
manage an obstacle course guided only by an instructor walking behind - talking but not touching. Talk about a pig's ear!
It is instructive how many cannot tell left from right without eyesight! Eventually there was a winner and - unlike the real
event - everyone got a prize and requests for a repeat next year already voiced. As the saying goes : "a good time was
had by all".
